Pots & Pans

Hello! I'm writing this under a perfect blue sky. It's the kind of day which undermines January's claim to be the gloomiest month of the year.

My new song, Pots & Pans, is going to be released on 1st February but do not fear...you can listen to it right here, right now before it launches on Spotify and Apple Music. It's a little more intense than the first two. Maybe it could be called psychedelic.

One of the fun parts of making it with Dean was choosing our favourite pots and pans from the kitchen and then smashing them rhythmically to make the banging sound in between verses. We then duplicated the sound and transposed it into lower octaves to give it a bit more oomph.

It was also nice to bring back the nutty harpsichord, amping up the tension throughout the track. It's a song written out of a certain frustrating feeling that we probably all had during lockdown, of being cooped up in a never-ending pandemic.

Zooming out for a second to Radiat.in/g in general, the project is going ahead, slowly but surely. This year I'll be releasing quite a few tracks, in quite a few different genres, and also thinking more strategically about how to get my music out there. I'm extremely lucky to have a brother who has thought extremely long and hard about how to market music (in this amazing article), and I'll be leaning on his expertise.

Anyway - enjoy the song!
